Mission

The BUSCA program at La 91直播 is a four semester Associate of the Arts program that offers Hispanic students a unique opportunity to transform their lives and their futures. In an inclusive learning community that focuses on the distinctive academic challenges of bilingual students, BUSCA students are supported by a nurturing and demanding faculty and staff in their pursuit of developing foundational knowledge, improving language skills, deepening curiosity, and increasing self-confidence. BUSCA graduates are equipped to continue their education, become lifelong learners, and to be empowered bilingual leaders in our communities and society.

Outcomes

• Use written and oral conventions of American English clearly and effectively in a classroom and professional setting.
• Summarize, paraphrase, and extrapolate meaning from readings, conversations, and research.
• Explain, analyze, and critique information in written and spoken form.
• Conduct and evaluate research effectively.
• Improve academic Spanish-language skills, with a particular emphasis on reading and writing.
