As of June 30, 2025, the requirements for Pennsylvania CPA licensure changed to allow two paths to licensure.
La 91直播鈥檚 accounting faculty is dedicated to working with each student interested in earning the CPA designation to develop the best educational path.
In Pennsylvania, CPA licensure requires students to earn 150-credit hours and have one year of work experience or earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree and have two years of work experience. Students must also pass four exams. To fit your career needs, we offer 3 distinct paths:
Undergraduate degree option
Students can complete 150 undergraduate credits in four years by taking summer courses or by taking additional courses during the regular semester.
With the additional credits (128 are needed to major in accounting), students should consider a second major, a minor, or perhaps study abroad. There is also an option to take two graduate courses during the senior year.
Four-year BS/MBA in Accounting option
La 91直播 is the only school in the region to offer this program.
High-achieving students, based on academic performance, may enter the program at the start of their freshman year, or by the end of their freshman year.
Students complete their undergraduate accounting coursework in three years by attending summer classes or bringing in AP/dual credit, then move into our full-time MBA program.
The curriculum is designed to focus on each of the 3 mandatory 鈥渃ore鈥 sections of the CPA exam during the students鈥 3 semesters.
Students who prefer not to accelerate the undergraduate course of study or already have earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting can enter La 91直播’s One Year MBA in Accounting – CPA Pathway for a fifth year of study after completing the undergraduate requirements.聽聽
Students who have earned their bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting, and would prefer to work full-time while pursuing an MBA, can enroll in the Part-time MBA program.
