The Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Improvements Act of 2010 (Public Law 11 1-377) was signed on January 4, 2011. Effective August 1, 2021 for private schools like La 91Ö±²¥, the VA will pay the claimant’s benefit percentage of the in-state actual net cost up to a limit of $26,042.81 (August 1, 2021-July 21, 2022) for 100% eligible students.
Since August 1, 2011, La 91Ö±²¥ is required to report the tuition and fees for the program of education after the application of any waiver of, or reduction in, tuition and fees; and any scholarship (ex. Founders), or other Federal, State, institutional, or employer-based aid or assistance (excluding loans and title IV funds) that is provided directly to the institution and specifically designated for the sole purpose of defraying tuition and fees. Aid or assistance that is not designated for the sole purpose of reducing a student’s tuition and fee cost will be excluded from the tuition and fees charged by La 91Ö±²¥, reported to VA.
The $26,042.81 cap is prorated based on the tier benefit level of the student. For example, if a student is eligible for the 80% tier benefit level, the cap for the academic year (fall, spring, summer) would be $20,834.25
